“The purpose of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is to promote and enhance the goals and services of the hospital and its affiliates, promoting it as a caring community healthcare leader. The Auxiliary shall provide educational, financial, and volunteer services for the organization, in accordance with the objectives established by the Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees.”

“The Hugh Chatham Health Auxiliary continues to provide essential support to the hospital and our broader community through dedicated volunteer efforts and fundraising operations. Our Auxiliary currently includes 30 active volunteers who generously give their time, talent, and compassion. We operate two key retail outlets: the Hospital Gift Shop and the Thrift Shop. Both are vital sources of revenue that directly benefit Hugh Chatham Health's programs and services. The Gift Shop, located within the hospital, serves patients, visitors, and staff with convenience and care. The Thrift Shop, sustained entirely by generous donations from the community, remains a valued resource-offering affordable goods and providing direct support to individuals and local organizations in need. Funds raised through these operations have supported several meaningful hospital initiatives, including: 1. The Healing Trail offers a serene outdoor space for patients and their families. 2. Emergency Room Renovation, improving patient care and capacity, 3. Books for Babies: Promoting Early Literacy for Newborns and Their Families. In addition, the Auxiliary's Knitting Program-run entirely by volunteers-creates handmade baby caps and prayer shawls. These heartfelt items bring warmth and comfort to patients and new families during vulnerable times. Through both service and generosity, the Hugh Chatham Health Auxiliary remains committed to enhancing the health and well-being of our patients and neighbors. We are proud to be a visible, caring presence in the hospital and throughout the community.”
