The board of directors of related organization alexander youth network (ayn) has the obligation to approve the relatives' requests for amendments to bylaws, adoption or modification of the mission statement, modifications to the relationship between ayn and the relatives, material transfer of assets, grants of any lien on material portion of assets, dissolution, merger, formation or investment in any new business venture, hiring and replacement of the executive director of the relatives, issuance of debt, adoption of budgets and financial plans, modification to lines of service offered by the relatives, filing for debt relief, or any other matters described in the bylaws of the relatives.

The organization provides copies of the conflict of interest policy to board members and members of management. Annually, each individual is required to review and sign the document, acknowledging their willingness to abide by the policy and disclosing any potential conflicts. Individuals must also alert the board of any conflicts that may arise.

Ayn's compmensation policy is as follows: the compensation committee establishes and evaluates the performance and total compensation of the ceo. Annually, the compensation committee evaluates performance and compares compensation with that of other agencies of similar size and function to determine appropriate ceo compensation. Using the same process as above, the ceo in conjunction with the human resources department is responsible for determining the compensation for other officers and employees.
