“Program activities undertaken to provide childcare for the faculty and staff of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and employees of UNC Hospitals ceased on Monday, November 22, 2021. On that day, the University and UNC Health transitioned daily operations of the University Child Center to Bright Horizons Family Solutions moving forward. As of the date of this filing, Bright Horizons Family Solutions continues to operate the University Child Care Center. The remaining assets of the Taxpayer are cash in the bank account and fixed assets including playground equipment. The approved plan is to transfer the equipment to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which is recognized by the IRS as described in Section 501(c)(3), by December 21, 2023 with the transfer of cash in the bank account to take place afterwards. This method of dissolution has been approved through proper corporate formalities and will comply with all statutory requirements, including approval by the NC Attorney General and Secretary of State.”
