An array of charms mission is to empower disadvantaged youth by equipping them with the academic competencies, social skills, and leadership training required to create permanent, positive change in their lives. We accomplish this through a foundation of training in etiquette, civility, and protocol- the three core assets that transform societal and socioeconomic differences into the common language of success. Each summer, aaoc provides affordable, accessible day camps for families of youth, ages 4-15. Aaoc camps are gender-specific, culturally relevant and provide training centered on the themes of social and business etiquette, civility, and protocol. Youth also receive academic enrichment, character education, and participate in community services activities.

“Volunteers assist when needed with math and english tutoring”
“We received the largest grant ever from metro, naza program which allowed us to give 25 students free aftercare services for the year. Enrollment has continued to grow which gave us a continuous waiting list throughout the year. Staff retention has been consistent for the last 4 years. This is the second year kevin kennedy has provided math and english tutoring to our 4th-8th graders. This is the first year we have hired a site director for aaoc. Mr. Avery smith was hired as our site director, june 2024 and he has brought great program ideas and has brought a more hands on approach when interacting with parents and students. Also, he has bought a more positive approach involving youth engagement with staff. Aaoc has been awarded the mdha summer youth grant for over 10 years. We celebrated twenty years of providing after school care and summer camp services to nashville youth. Currently we have a 5 star rating on google and going strong. Lastly we achieved our goal of receiving revenue of 500k in 2024.”

AVERY SMITH WAS HIRED AS OUR SITE DIRECTOR, JUNE 2024 AND HE HAS BROUGHT GREAT PROGRAM IDEAS AND HAS BROUGHT A MORE HANDS ON APPROACH WHEN INTERACTING WITH PARENTS AND STUDENTS. ALSO, HE HAS BOUGHT A MORE POSITIVE APPROACH INVOLVING YOUTH ENGAGEMENT WITH STAFF. AAOC HAS BEEN AWARDED THE MDHA SUMMER YOUTH GRANT FOR OVER 10 YEARS. WE CELEBRATED TWENTY YEARS OF PROVIDING AFTER SCHOOL CARE AND SUMMER CAMP SERVICES TO NASHVILLE YOUTH. CURRENTLY WE HAVE A 5 STAR RATING ON GOOGLE AND GOING STRONG. LASTLY WE ACHIEVED OUR GOAL OF RECEIVING REVENUE OF 500K IN 2024. |
