Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require the hospital, foundation, and scholarship foundation to evaluate tax positions taken by the hospital, foundation, and scholarship foundation and recognize a tax liability or asset if the hospital, foundation, and scholarship foundation have taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would be sustained upon examination by the internal revenue service (irs). The hospital, foundation, and scholarship foundation have concluded that as of september 30, 2024, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or asset or disclosure in the combined financial statements. Generally, tax returns for the years ended september 30, 2021, and thereafter remain subject to examination by federal and state tax authorities.”
