Teton valley education foundation offers funding through teacher grants to benefit teton school district 401. Teachers and staff have the opportunity to submit a teacher grant application three times a year for consideration of funding to support new ideas, initiatives and curriculum-aligned projects that would not be made possible due to budgetary constraints. In the current fiscal year, 27 teachers and principals received successful grant awards with a positive impact to 1,400 students. Teacher grant awards were very diverse and the funding highlighted: technology in the classrooms, deepened stem curriculum for the teton high school and teton middle school, supported field trips to enhance classroom learning and supported special education curriculum initiatives.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 29

Art reach supports a qualified art teacher and art materials and supplies for all teton school district elementary school students. The program is important as it provides a comprehensive and quality art program for each student. Prior to art reach, our schools depended on parent volunteers and teachers with the inclination towards art. This program ensures each student is receiving an art education based on national standards. The program benefited 750 teton school district 401 elementary students, grades k-5.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 30

Through expedition: yellowstone teton school district 5th grade students experience a ranger-led 5-day residential program. The program teaches students about the natural and cultural history of yellowstone national park. Students learn through direct experience on hikes, field investigations, large and small group discussions, creative drama and journal writing. Through the program, students also learn about issues affecting the ecosystem, and learn to become a steward in the park and at home. For many students, this is their first trip from home. Students also gain valuable social skills and responsibility as they work together taking turns cooking and cleaning. The program impacts 140 5th grade students.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 31

Other programs include: volunteers in public schools, the "voice" mentorship program, backpacks for students in need, basic vision screening for all 1st and 3rd grade students, and postsecondary scholarships.
