“Primary exempt purpose - the association for women in communications (awc) is a professional organization that champions the advancement of women across all communications disciplines by recognizing excellence, promoting leadership and positioning its members at the forefront of the evolving communications era. Awc provides education through its national conference, webinars, teleconferences, and regional seminars, as well as supporting its chapters which provide local education. Awc recognizes excellence through its annual clarion awards competition, which includes more than 100 categories covering all communcations disciplines. Annually awc recognizes an outstanding student and oustanding faculty advisor. Every other year, awc presents its international matrix award to an exemplary communicator, and the headliner award to an awc member who has national accomplishments at the awc national conference.
