Statewide Sickle Chapters of VA Inc

“The corporation has one class of members,known as active members, active members are selected by the individual sickle cell chapters. Each chapter selects two active members and one alternate. The nine chapters thus select 18 active members to serve on the board or directors, active members whose chapters have paid applicable annual dues shall have the right to vote. There is also a secondary category of members classified as at-large members. These are active members who constitute individuals desiring to work for/ support the sickle cell community in areas not covered by existing chapters. At-large members shall have no voting rights.”

At the annual meeting there shall also be elected, from nominations recommended by a committee appointed for that specific purpose, the following officers;president,president-elect,secretary, and treasurer, who shall serve as officers of the board of directors.”

Also al former presidents shall have voting privileges provided they are not represented by two voting delegates from their active member chapter.”
