IRS990ScheduleI/GrantsOtherAsstToIndivInUSGrp/RecipientCnt01125
IRS990ScheduleI/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0The Relief Fund will be administered by the WCFA-NGRF Director under the direction of the Chairman of the Board. Upon receipt of a grant or no-interest loan request and appropriate supporting documentation, the NGRF Director, NGRF Chairman, or designated NGRF contracted staff will review the application for approval in accordance with grant and loan eligibility and criteria established by the board, and fund availability. The S.A.R.G.E. Grant Program: WCFA offers an opportunity to a current or former National Guard member who is in good standing and who has experienced a catastrophic financial hardship and/or personal property loss to apply for a Soldier & Airman Relief Grant for Emergencies (hereafter referred to as "SARGE") grant. Grants may be used for financial hardships related to events such as mobilization, natural disasters, fires and other catastrophic losses. The grants are intended for otherwise non-reimbursable expenses (i.e., not covered by insurance) due to these events and include medical bills, utility bills, rent or mortgage payments, groceries, relocation, shelter due to loss of residence and funeral expenses. Other expenses, not listed here, may be deemed appropriate and approved by the committee. Grants are typically $500 and are transmitted to the individual usually within 5 days after receipt of completed application. Disaster Relief Fund: WCFA offers a Disaster Relief Fund to National Guard members in States and regions affected by natural disasters and in certain cases, man-made disasters. Natural and man-made disasters differ from individual emergency relief situations due to the large amount of claims that can come out of a local or regional event. Whereas individual emergency relief claims are isolated and focused, disasters affect a large population of National Guard members who at the same time may be called up to support disaster support activities. The WCFA Disaster Relief Fund is meant to be a "force multiplier" to ongoing efforts already underway in disaster areas. Because each disaster event is different in its effects, the amount of support received from the WCFA Disaster Relief will vary. The primary determination on support for Disaster Relief will be the degree of damage, the size of the affected area and funds available to support the relief. The voting members of the WFCA Board of Directors will make the final determination on approval for relief and the amount to be disbursed keeping in mind the potential need for funds to support other disasters in the future.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0The We Care for America Foundation is dedicated to providing emergency financial assistance to the men and women of the National Guard and their families. While the National Guard takes care of the citizens of America, the We Care for America Foundation takes care of our National Guard men and women, and their families.
