“Scholarship, Conference, & Travel Awards - APALA provides financial assistance to library and information science students and professionals of Asian or Pacific background: - who are enrolled in, or have been accepted into, a masters or doctoral degree program in library and/or information science at a school accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) - who wish to attend the American Library Association Annual Conference & Exhibition - Who wish to participate in the ALA Emerging Leaders Program - Who are conducting research activities with a contribution toward library and information science in general and APA librarianship in particular - Who wish to enhance enhance their engagement with equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice through professional development and financial assistance”

“Literature Awards & Banquet - Asian/Pacific American cultures and experiences. Each award will be named and given the award seal during the annual APALA Literature Award Ceremony. The winner of each category will receive a plaque and a press release will be sent to various national publications.”

“Talk Story: Sharing Stories, Sharing Culture is a family literacy program that reaches out to Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI), and American Indian and Alaskan Native (AIAN) families and their intergenerational community members. Talk Story celebrates and affirms Asian, Pacific Islander, and American Indian intersectionalities through books, oral traditions, art, and more to provide interactive and enriching experiences. Talk Story grant funding supports library and community organization opportunities to highlight APIA and AIAN stories through programs, services, and collection materials. Children and families can connect to rich cultural activities through Talk Story in their homes, libraries, and communities while challenging mainstream Anglocentric literacy practices. We welcome libraries and community organizations to develop their own Talk Story: Sharing Stories, Sharing Culture project to serve family literacy needs.”

“Mentorship Program: The purpose of the APALA Mentoring Program is to provide professional and personal development, inspiration, and encouragement through a supportive mentoring relationship. The specific goals of the program include: - To provide guidance and coaching to library students and new librarians in their careers and growth as professionals. - To foster leadership in APALA, ALA, and other professional library associations. - To facilitate communication between library students, new librarians, and experienced professionals.”
