Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Part X, Line 2 FIN 48 (ASC 740) footnote

The Association is organized as a state of Virginia nonprofit corporation and has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in Section 501(a)(6), and has been determined not to be a private association under Section 509(a)(1). The Association is required to file a Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax (Form 990) with the IRS. The Financial Accounting Standards Board issued guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. Management evaluated the Association's tax positions and concluded that the Association had taken no uncertain tax positions that required adjustment to the financial statements to comply with the provisions of this guidance. The Association includes penalties and interest assessed by income taxing authorities in operating expenses. No penalties or interest were incurred for the years ended December 31, 2024 and 2023.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0The Association is organized as a state of Virginia nonprofit corporation and has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in Section 501(a)(6), and has been determined not to be a private association under Section 509(a)(1). The Association is required to file a Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax (Form 990) with the IRS. The Financial Accounting Standards Board issued guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. Management evaluated the Association's tax positions and concluded that the Association had taken no uncertain tax positions that required adjustment to the financial statements to comply with the provisions of this guidance. The Association includes penalties and interest assessed by income taxing authorities in operating expenses. No penalties or interest were incurred for the years ended December 31, 2024 and 2023.
