Form 990, Part III

Operation blessing international is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, humanitarian organization with a mission to demonstrate god's love by alleviating human need and suffering in the united states and around the world. Implementing programs that include disaster relief, medical aid, hunger relief, orphan care, safe water and livelihood/microenterprise.

Form 990, Part III, Line 4A

In addition to volunteer medical teams, obi mobilizes local health care workers called community health volunteers (chvs) that provide free medical services in rural areas allowing remote populations access to primary healthcare. Operation blessing was instrumental in feeding hungry people around the world in fy18, including feeding programs for children in countries such as el salvador, haiti, iraq, israel, jordan, peru, kenya, rwanda, lesotho and uganda. In the aftermath of disasters, teams aided residents with emergency food and relief, debris cleanup and rebuilding efforts. Obi helped responded to the earthquakes throughout mexico providing hot meals, food, hygiene supplies and home repair. In fy18, operation blessing equipped individuals with marketable job skills and small business opportunities in countries such as cuba, el salvador, mexico, honduras, peru, mauritania, kenya, pakistan, west bank and israel. From training in food production and animal husbandry to beautician skills and sewing centers, obi provided those in need with the resources and skills to provide for their families and strengthen communities through income generation. During this last fiscal year, operation blessing benefited an estimated 900,000 people with sanitation and safe drinking water. Water wells were drilled in liberia, peru, ghana, cambodia, india, nigeria, philippines, and thailand in communities lacking safe drinking water. In 20 countries around the world, obi water programs used a combination of techniques to bring safe water to communities such as point of use chlorine generation devices and water filtration. In haiti, ongoing chlorine production is helping disinfect water and prevent the spread of disease. Obi provides care for orphans and vulnerable children, including those who have been rescued from human trafficking, through educational opportunities and programs to combat malnutrition.
