“OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: In 2014, CFH was selected as a sub-grantee to administer the Down Payment Assistance Program of the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. This program provides down payment assistance to first-time homebuyers whoce income does not exceed 80% of the area medium income. To date, CFH has created homewonership opportunites for 14 households. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: The Edie Streett Security Deposit Assistance Program provides security deposit assistance for households whose incomes do not exceed 50% of the area medium income and whose rent does not exceed half their monthly incomes. The organization has been providing security deposit assistance since 1988. During Fiscal Year 2016, CFH helped 36 households served consisting of 47 adults and 57 children. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Choices Life Skills CFH provides comprehensive life skills training through the Choices program to enhance personal growth and basic life skills for the CFH tenants and the clients of the Program Partners. CFH provides information in classroom settings for participants and can train facilitators who would continue to train the Choices program to clients they serve. CFH continues to expand the marketing for this program and during the last fiscal year provided training for transitional housing programs, clients of the local drop-in center as well as residents of the local Adult Detention Center and clients of the V.I.E.W program. Also trained additional classes of transitional housing residents and is in negotiation with other organizations to provide training to their clients. Expenses include the salary and benefits of the Life Skills Coordinator who is providing the marketing and training for Choices. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Linton Hall Manor was developed to create homewonership opportunities in Bristow, VA. CFH developed 23 single family home lots and 19 town home affordable lots that were proffered to Prince William County, VA Police Officers, Fire and Rescue Techs, Municipal employees and school teachers. CFH was the developer on this project doing site work for all lots which were then sold to NV Homes to build the units. The homes were sold between 2007 and 2012. The organization anticipates having the bond released by early Fiscal Year 2017.”
