Mission

The mission of association for research and enlightenment (a.r.e.) is to help people transform their lives for the better, through research, education, and the application of core concepts found in the edgar cayce readings and kindred materials that seek to manifest the love of god and all people and promote the purposefulness of life, the oneness of god, the spiritual nature of humankind, and the connection of body, mind, and spirit.

The mission of association for research and enlightenment (a.r.e.) is to create opportunities for profound personal change in body, mind, and spirit through the wisdom found in the edgar cayce material.

As a means of providing much-needed resources to our local volunteers throughout the country, the organization created a centralized database of literally dozens of materials and information focused on assisting local volunteers create local study groups, manage local programs, and disseminate a variety of resources on the edgar cayce information. During the summer, the organization launched a new member benefit in its newsletter focused on "member experiments" - giving members firsthand experiences with a variety of suggestions in the edgar cayce readings for improving life, physically, mentally, or spiritually. Finally, due to the generosity of a donor, we were able to publish a new volume entitled, unlocking hope, which is a selection of moving testimonials from prison inmates describing the efficacy and helpfulness of our prison outreach program.

The finance committee of the board is responsible for the oversight of the audit and the selection of the independent accountant. In june of each year, the finance committee listens to a report on the audit. The board then listens to the recommendation of management and votes on a motion to engage, or dis-engage the auditors based on proposal fees, number of years engaged, etc.

A.r.e. And its affiliates, e.c.f. And a.u., are exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code, except on net income, if any, resulting from unrelated business taxable income. Fasb asc topic 740, income taxes, prescribes a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for the financial statement recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. The organization's management has evaluated the impact of the standard to its consolidated financial statements. The organization's income tax returns are subject to examination by taxing authorities, generally for a period of three years from the date the returns are filed. The organization's policy is to classify income tax related interest and penalties in interest expense and other expenses, respectively.

IN 2017, WE SENT OUT 70 STUDY GROUP STARTER KITS. THE USA TOTAL OF ECUMENICAL STUDY GROUPS STANDS AT 280 AND THE WORLDWIDE TOTAL TO MORE THAN 100 IN 34 COUNTRIES. THIS DEPARTMENT AIDS IN THE START-UPS OF NEW GROUPS, DISSEMINATES THE APPROPRIATE CAYCE MATERIAL (BOOKS, PUBLICATIONS, ETC.) AND STUDY GROUP GUIDELINES, RESPONDS TO VARIOUS GROUPS' INQUIRIES, AND RESOLVES ISSUES THAT ARISE WITH THE VARIOUS STUDY GROUP OPERATIONS. COMMUNITY IS A GLOBAL NETWORK OF INDIVIDUALS WHO OFFER CONFERENCES, EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, SERVICE PROJECTS, OUTREACH AND FELLOWSHIP AROUND THE WORLD.
