Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The mission of the Association is to strengthen the federal legal system and administration of justice by serving the interests and the needs of the federal practitioner, both public and private, the federal judiciary and the public they serve.

The purpose of this chapter includes providing events for their members to engage in continuing legal education with other members and members of the judiciary of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida; promoting the administration of justice; upholding a high standard for the federal judiciary, attorneys representing the government of the United States, and attorneys appearing before courts, departments, and agencies of the United States; encouraging cordial and friendly relations among the members of the legal profession; and promoting the welfare of attorneys employed by the government of the United States.

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Provides bi-monthly events for members featuring judges or other legal luminaries, including an annual judicial reception to encourage and promote cordial and friendly relations among the federal judges of the Southern District of Florida and the local bar (attendance approx. 60-120 per event).--
Participates along with the federal judiciary as part of the Teen Discourse and Decisions Program (TD Squared) (n/k/a Civil Discourse and Decisions) to educate high school students in civil discourse skills.--
Sponsors participation in the National Federal Bar Association Annual Convention, the bi-annual Southern District of Florida Bench/Bar Conference, and the Florida Bar's Annual Judicial Roundtable Meeting.--
