Governance Explanations

PART VI, SECTION A, LINE 2 - FAMILY RELATIONSHIP:

Stephanie young-allen, office coordinator, is the stepdaughter of linda bridges, secretary treasurer.

PART VI, SECTION A, LINE 6 - MEMBERS OF ORGANIZATION:

This organization is composed of members employed in occupations and professions, employed under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement between their employer and this local union. Associate membership is also available to any retirees, a member laid-off, placed outside of the bargaining unit or from a group of persons not presently covered under a collective labor agreement between the local union and an employer who is seeking unionism. Such associate members shall have a voice but no vote in the local union and cannot serve as an officer of the local.

PART VI, SECTION A, LINE 7A - ELECTION OF BOARD MEMBERS:

The general members, who are in good standing, will receive ballots by first class mail along with the proper instructions for balloting and shall be mailed within seven working days from the date of nominations. Return envelopes are supplied with the ballots and must be sent back to the election committee no less than fifteen days from the date the ballots were mailed.

PART VI, SECTION A, LINE 7B - DECISIONS OF THE BOARD:

Decisions of the governing body are subject to approval by the general membership. Such items such to membership approval include any proposed dues increase, right to review and vote on local union expenditures at membership meetings, right to a voice in determining the contract issues and during contract ratification, to set the terms and conditions of the workplace.

PART VI, SECTION B, LINE 11B - REVIEW OF FORM 990:

The form 990 is reviewed by the president, secretary-treasurer and bookkeeper of the organization before being submitted for filing.

Part VI, Sec B, Line 15B - Compensation Process for Top Mgt Offic

The president shall be employed on a full-time basis and his salary, expenses and other conditions of employment for the ensuing term shall be specified by the union at the next regular meeting following and shall be subject to review and possible adjustment each year thereafter.

Part VI, Sec. B, Line 15B - Compensation Process for Other Office

The secretary-treasurer salary shall be established by the executive board, subject to the approval of the membership.
