The fund has three classes of members, association members, partner members, and fund associates. The "life education fund" members shall include the association for advanced life underwriting, the association of health insurance advisors, gama international, the million dollar round table, the national association of insurance and financial advisors, the national association of independent life brokerage agencies and such other organizations and individuals as may qualify and be elected to membership as "life education fund" members. Partner members are individuals representing a of five of the foundation's company membership, other associations, past board members or individuals as determined by the foundation and such individuals as may qualify and be elected to membership as "life education fund" partner members. Fund associates are individuals and organizations interested in furthering the purposes of the foundation as may be approved by an affirmative vote of ten directors. The board of directors may create such classes of fund associates as may be deemed appropriate. Each association and partner member are entitled to one vote on each matter submitted to a vote of the association and partner members. Fund associates may not vote.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7A

Each association and partner member can appoint one member to the board of directors to serve a two year term.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7B

The fund members, by a majority vote of its members may amend the bylaws at any regular or special meeting.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The federal form 990 is first reviewed by ceo, coo, and treasurer. It is then sent to audit committee and the full board of directors prior to filing the form 990 with the internal revenue service.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

New board members are provided with a conflict policy the first year they are on the board of directors. The policy is revisited every year at the spring board meeting. As for employees, the policy is included in the employee handbook. The conflict of interest disclosure is monitored on an annual basis. The president/ceo is responsible for reviewing any conflicts or potential conflicts of interest. Once reviewed, the matter is brought to the attention of the executive committee who makes the final decision. If a conflict does exist, limits may include recuse from voting and prohibiting the member from participating in the governing body's deliberations and decisions in the transaction.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The fund makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available upon request. The documents are mailed to the recipient as soon as the request is received.
