“Chapter membership: the organization provides services to pmi global members through the local chapter. The mission of the local southern maryland chapter is to provide professional development units (pdus) to current members. Twenty pdus are required per year, sixty per three-year cycle, to maintain the project management professional (pmp) certification. The local chapter provides serices to members of the local chapter. As of 1/1/2016, the pmi southern maryland chapter had 379 members; as of 12/31/2016, the memberships were 522. The accomplishment in the program service area of chapter membership was growth of approximately 38% in 2016.”

“Educational offerings: the chapter provides educational offerings to include professional certification preparatory classes, educational luncheon and evening speakers, and full-day professional development events to its members. In 2016, the chapter held 22 events; and increase of approximately 25% over 2015.”

“Continuing education scholarships: the pmi southern maryland chapter awards scholarships for continuing education to its membership. In 2016, the chapter awarded 1,000 in scholarships for continuing education costs to applicants. Scholarships are awarded in increments of 250 per approved application.”
