The Forum for Youth Investment

EIN 52-2242472 • 501(c)3 • Washington, DC

Profile

Our work is guided by our strategic plan - stronger systems, stronger youth - and anchored in our vision that all young people reach their fullest potential - in education, work, and life. By focusing on quality capacity building and policy action across systems and sectors. The forum connects leaders in youth development to the resources and services they need to create equitable opportunities and outcomes for all young people. Our core priorities are focused in three broad areas:1. Improving program quality in youth development systems, leveraging continuous quality improvement tools, resources, and frameworks along with research and evaluation.2. Building practitioner and system leader capacity, providing consultation, training, and technical assistance and co-designing innovative solutions that support positive youth development.3. Convening the youth development ecosystem to share policy, identifying gaps and building relationships to advance a youth policy agenda.

Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The forum for youth investment is a national nonprofit, nonpartisan "action tank" committed to changing the odds that all children and youth are ready for college, work, and life. We provide ideas, services, and networks that leaders need to make more intentional decisions that are good for young people, whether those leaders are in the process of strengthening practices and programs, planning and partnering for impact, or improving and aligning policies. Savvy leaders know that changing the odds for youth requires changes in the ways they do business. This is especially true as expectations rise for leaders to engage youth, families, and community leaders; develop evidence-informed improvement strategies; and demonstrate equitable impacts. The forum helps leaders think differently about what it takes to manage and sustain change so that they are more motivated to act differently and, ultimately, act together as a part of an allied youth field.

To advance equitable youth opportunities and outcomes through quality capacity building and policy action across systems and sectors.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The forum is exempt from federal and state income taxes (except taxes on unrelated business income) under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and is classified by the internal revenue service as other than a private foundation. The forum, however, is required to report unrelated business income to the internal revenue service (irs) and the district of columbia. No provision for income taxes was required for the year ended june 30, 2024 since the forum had no taxable income from unrelated business activities. The income tax positions taken by the forum for any years open under the various statutes of limitations are that the forum continues to be exempt from income taxes and that it has properly reported unrelated business income that is subject to income taxes. The forum believes that there are no tax positions taken or expected to be taken that would significantly increase unrecognized tax liabilities within 12 months of the reporting date. The forum evaluated its uncertainty in income taxes and determined that there were no matters that would require recognition in the financial statements or that may have any effect on its tax-exempt status. None of the forum's federal or state income tax returns are currently under examination.
