| IRS990/Description | 0 | Greenspace's strategy is to transform the marketplace through pivotal partnerships and leverage those partnerships to embed green development of buildings and sites, new and existing, into common practice. Our goals are to provide needed expertise, training and support to demonstrate environmental and economic viability of green development. We also work to engage our partners and the regional community in adopting appropriate behaviors and policies that will enhance the regions environmental, economic and community health, especially those that live in low-income housing. Towards these ends, during 2011, Greenspace, NCR: designed and hosted several workshops on retrofitting and rehabbing affordable housing, worked with key stakeholders in the community to support and develop a Living Communities Partnership Network, as a team member of DC PACE, providing accessible and affordable financing for energy efficiency and clean energy retrofit commercial and multifamily building projects, Greenspace contributed to the design of the program, was an active participant in the Sustainable DC Plan and its Built Environment and Green Economy working groups, worked to develop a Green DC Metro Service and Product Directory, provided leadership in the development of the DC Green Building Compliance, Technical Corrections, and Clarifications Amendment Act of 2012 and heightened awareness of the benefit of green practices, standards and materials in designing green places and communities amongst restaurant owners and high-tech product developers. |
