Moneywise financial empowerment summit. In 2015, for the fourth consecutive year, the cdc collaborated with pbs' long-running personal finance show moneywise with kelvin boston, and other strategic partners to host the moneywise financial empowerment summit, promoting financial, physical, and spiritual health to over 300 residents of the metro area. The event featured distinguished financial experts, panel discussions, one-on-one credit coaching, financial planning models and exhibits. Each presentation addressed the role of community and faith in personal and financial health and well-being. Health the dapcdc partners each year with several organizations to sponsor donor sabbath, the national observance to increase awareness within the black community about organ and tissue donation and transplantation. In fy 2015, approximately 700 individuals attended the educational and inspirational program that featured individuals who had benefitted from organ and tissue donation or transplantation. Partners included metropolitan ame, chapters of the links, inc., and local premier practitioners. The program also provided opportunities for individuals to learn more about the need for advocates and donors and to register to become organ or tissue donors.
