Activity 2

Synetic studio is dedicated to preparing amateur and professional artists for training programs, exploring an alternative approach to theater both in practice and application. The studio creates a community of artists and arts enthusiasts across the spectrum of experience, age, cultural perspective, and artistic disciplines, promoting the synthesis of kinetic arts. Synetic theaters educational studio program offers a range of educational programs in drama and visual arts including a weeklong summer day camp culminating in students performing an original hour-long play. Additionally, synetic offers week-long intensives in street theater and theater for civic action and ten week seasonal classes for students ranging in ages from five to fifty years of age. Synetic studio also offers an intensive preparatory program for teens offering foundational and advanced dramatic training in movement, acting, voice, and devising theater for students interested in pursuing a career in the theatrical arts. During the current year 305 students participated in the programs.

Activity 3

Synetic brings high quality traveling shows and workshops to elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the greater washington area. During the 2012-13 school year, synetic theater served over 18,000 students in the washington dc area. The program brings high quality traveling shows to title 1 elementary and middle schools. These performances expose children to theater, as well as teach them lessons on dealing with bullying, confidence building, and the values of helping others. Program attendance ranges from 250-800 students per show that end with workshops in q&a sessions. Future shows in development will fit the needs of school curriculum.
