Vision: mma is a preeminent organization for historical and cultural institutions, museum professionals and associated sectors in maryland. We are an active and comprehensive resource for museum advocacy, professional education, and best resource management practices. Guiding principles: we value the rich and diverse cultural heritage of maryland and believe it should be supported and funded. We recognize the contribution of each museum in the state regardless of size. We promote professional education for our members by promoting diverse learning opportunities.”

Education: mma creates opportunities for people studying, working, and/or volunteering in the museum field to access training and workshops, including providing scholarship to attend professional conferences. Outreach: mma creates, aggregates, and promotes information about museum resources, educational conferences, and opportunities to network and learn from within the field and with allied professions.”
