Form 990, Part III

Line 4a - first accomplishment our clinic director, who holds a master wildlife rehabilitator's permit, and our full-time wildlife veterinarian set and enforce our animal care policies and protocols based on state and federal guidelines as well as best practices learned from years of experience working at wildlife care facilities across the united states. Line 4c - third accomplishment they attend professional wildlife rehabilitation conferences and share their expertise while also staying abreast of new techniques and tools for wildlife care. All clinic staff participate in continuing education training annually. Scwc has worked in close consultation with maryland and federal agencies regarding relevant public health issues, such as avian flu and rabies, and makes annual statistical reports to agencies as to patient care and outcomes.

Form 990, Part X

In july 2018, scwc purchased land in clarksburg, maryland as the selected location for its new headquarters and wildlife rehabilitation facility. Since that time, scwc has been actively fundraising for the construction of that new facility. This income and the value of the property (paid for in full and without a loan or mortgage) is reflected in substantial increases in assets in the organization's audited financial statements. As construction continues toward completion in late 2025, a majority of these cash funds have been and will continue to be depleted.
