“The executive committtee (ec) shall be a committee of the board of directors as defined in section 1 of the articles of incorporation. The members of the ec shall include the chair (or co-chairs), the vice chair, the secretary, the treasurer, the immediate past chair or (chairs), and the chairpersons of the standing committees of the board of directors (other than the chairperson of the audit committee). The president shall be a non-voting ex-officio member of the executive committee. Every two years the chair, in consultation with the governance committee, and with the approval of an affirmative vote of a majority of all directors then in office, may select from among the members of the board of directors additional members of the ec to serve for two-year terms, subject to the requirement that the total number of members of the ec shall not exceed 18. A person may serve on the ec only for so long as such person is a member of the board of directors. Except as otherwise provided in these by-laws or the articles of incorporation, the ec may exercise all business of the corporation when the board of directors is not in session, except; electing, appointing or removing directors; filling vacancies on any committee of the board of directors; dissolving the corporation; adopting, amending or resciniding any confilct of interst policy or audit committee charter; or ceasing the corporation's activities. The ec may approve documents provided by banks and other enttites that are styled as "board resolutions or similar documents, and the approval of such documents shall have the effect of resolutions approved by the board of directors to the extent their execution is reasonable necesary for the completion of transcations pursuant to this paragraph.”

“The finance committee reveiews the form 990 and approves it before it is signed by the executive director and filed with the irs.”

“The organization requests all board members to update the signed conflict of interest policy at the annual meeting and all new members are given one to sign.”

“The organization has established a standing compensation committee that has been charged with determining the compensation of the executive director and the senior financial officer each year. The executive director compensation was reviewed in april 2015 when the compensation committee reviewed the "2011 dc nonprofit salary ranges" prepared by the organization professionals for non profits (pnp), washington, dc" for organization in the area with an operating budget of 2.1 million to 5 million a year.”

“The organization makes its documents available for public inspection upon written request.”

“Rapid rehousing ("rrh"): rapid rehousing serves people experiencing homelessness who need just short-term support to get back on their feet. In addition to providing temporary rental assistance, rrh helps people stabilize their income through benefits or employment, create sustainable budgets, find and move into housing, and connect with whatever services they will need for long-term housing stability. Friendship place's rrh placed 92 individuals and 17 families (encompassing 53 total family members) into housing during the fiscal year ending september 30, 2015.”
