Nablf staff review and sign a conflict of interest/business ethics policy that provides guidance on avoiding conflicts of interest, avoiding undue influence, and limitations on acceptance of gifts. A serious conflict of interest would be brought to the attention of the nablf president or the chairman of the nablf board for resolution. Any conflicts not resolved are brought to the attention of the audit committee and/or executive committee. The board will ensure that the nablf officers and employees are advised of procedures for reporting potential violations. Directors should report any suspected violations of this code promptly to the chair of the board of nablf, president and/or to the treasurer. Alleged violations will be investigated by the board (excluding the director who is alleged to have committed the violation) or by a person or persons designated by the board, and appropriate action taken in the event of a violation.
