“Administration (bha) with awards for the procurement of community based services not funded through the fee-for-service medicaid structure. Msmhs also manages grants from the department of housing and urban development (hud) for the continuum of care (roundtable on homelessness) housing programs, and the rural cares system of care grant for the youth engagement project. Msmhs is one of the few mental health authorities in maryland that serves as lead agency for the continuum of care (coc), providing leadership in understanding and addressing the needs of homeless individuals and families in the mid-shore region. Msmhs manages a total 62 coc housing program units, 43 awarded directly from hud and 16 through maryland's behavioral health administration. Youth engagement project: this projects seeks to promote the engagement of youth residing in the nine (9) counties of the eastern shore of maryland through the implementation of youth m.o.v.e. Model. M.o.v.e stands for motivating others through voices of experience and is devoted to improving services and systems that supports positive growth and development by uniting the voices and causes of those who have lived experience in various systems.”

THE THREE LARGEST PROGRAMS FROM AN EXPENSE STANDPOINT MANAGED BY MSMHS ARE CRISIS RESPONSE SYSTEM (HELPLINE AND CRISIS INTERVENTION), PEER SUPPORT WELLNESS AND RECOVERY SERVICES, AND MARYLAND COMMUNITY CRIMINAL JUSTICE TREATMENT PROGRAMS IN LOCAL COUNTY DETENTION CENTERS. MSMHS' MAIN SOURCE OF REVENUE IS MARYLAND'S BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ADMINISTRATION (BHA) WITH AWARDS FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES NOT FUNDED THROUGH THE FEE-FOR-SERVICE MEDICAID STRUCTURE. MSMHS ALSO MANAGES GRANTS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) FOR THE CONTINUUM OF CARE (ROUNDTABLE ON HOMELESSNESS) HOUSING PROGRAMS, AND THE RURAL CARES SYSTEM OF CARE GRANT FOR THE YOUTH ENGAGEMENT PROJECT. MSMHS IS ONE OF THE FEW MENTAL HEALTH AUTHORITIES IN MARYLAND THAT SERVES AS LEAD AGENCY FOR THE CONTINUUM OF CARE (COC), PROVIDING LEADERSHIP IN UNDERSTANDING AND ADDRESSING THE NEEDS OF HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN THE MID-SHORE REGION. MSMHS MANAGES A TOTAL 62 COC HOUSING PROGRAM UNITS, 43 AWARDED DIRECTLY FROM HUD AND 16 THROUGH MARYLAND'S BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ADMINISTRATION. YOUTH ENGAGEMENT PROJECT: THIS PROJECTS SEEKS TO PROMOTE THE ENGAGEMENT OF YOUTH RESIDING IN THE NINE (9) COUNTIES OF THE EASTERN SHORE OF MARYLAND THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF YOUTH M.O.V.E. MODEL. M.O.V.E STANDS FOR MOTIVATING OTHERS THROUGH VOICES OF EXPERIENCE AND IS DEVOTED TO IMPROVING SERVICES AND SYSTEMS THAT SUPPORTS POSITIVE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT BY UNITING THE VOICES AND CAUSES OF THOSE WHO HAVE LIVED EXPERIENCE IN VARIOUS SYSTEMS. |
