Members or stockholder classes and rights Part VI line 6

The adopted By-Laws state the following regarding Membership. Section 2.01. Classes. There shall be two classes of members. (1)Board of Directors with Voting Rights and (2)Supporting Members without Voting Rights.

Member election for additional members Part VI line 7A

Per By-Laws Section 2.02. Qualifications.Membership may be granted to any individual that supports the mission and purposes of the organization, and who pays the annual dues as set by the Board of Directors. Supporting Members shall have no voting rights. Section 2.03. Termination of Membership. The Board of Directors, by affirmative vote of two-thirds of all the members of the Board, may suspend or expel a member for substantial cause as determined by the current board members

Governing body decisions Part VI line 7B

Section 3.01. Authority of Directors. The Board of Directors is the governing and policymaking body and may exercise all the powers and authority granted to the Organizaton by law. Section 3.04. Board Elections. At the annual meeting, the existing Directors shall elect new Directors, replacing those Directors whose terms have expired, and confirming the continuation of those Directors moving into a second term.

Form 990 governing body review Part VI line 11

Currently the entire board of directors does not review the Form 990 prior to submission. Historically the President and Executive Director have reviewed the form after being prepared by the accountant.

Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12C

Section 7.01 Any board member, officer, employee, or committee member having a potential or actual conflict of interest in a contract or other transaction presented to the Board of Directors or a committee of the Corporation which involves its recommendation, authorization, approval or ratification, shall give prompt, full and frank disclosure of his or her interest to the Board of Directors or committee prior to acting on such contract or transaction. The body to which such disclosure is made shall thereupon determine, by majority vote, whether the disclosure shows that a conflict of interest exists or can reasonably be construed to exist. If anyone feels - or believes - the policy is not being followed, the Board is notified immediately.

IRS990/Desc0During calendar year 2024 our afterschool program, Project ROCKET concluded programming June 30 in 2 Somerset County MD locations - Crisfield & Princess Anne. ..... serving more than 60 at risk, kindergarten to 8th grade. 99% of our students were minority students, 98% qualified to receive Free and Reduced Meals, and 61% were reading below grade level. Our program focused on reclaiming academic and emotional learning loss which occurred during the pandemic. Project Rocket is a strong collaboration with the Virginia Space and Flight Academy to offer Stem programs including astronomy, rocketry, and robotics, as well as, improving literacy and math skills through evidenced based curriculum , I-Ready. In addition, Project Rocket includes social emotional learning sessions with evidenced based programs, Positive Action and Too Good for Drugs and Violence, as well as small group sessions with a licensed social worker. Services were provided Monday Friday and also included homework assistance, community service, recreation, field trips, parent outreach, and a hot meal each day for our students. Per our Performance Indicators, over the FY23 school year we provided 52 evidenced based programming sessions, and 80% of our students met criteria for regular attendance (30 or more programming days).

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Our SHORE WAY TO COLLEGE program is a Next Generation Scholars program and provided college and career readiness services for more than 200 7TH - 12TH grade students in Somerset County Public Schools in preparation for them to receive the Guaranteed Access Grant. The grant is available to graduating seniors whose family income is 130% below the poverty level. The program provides College and Career Interns at the middle school and 2 high schools, and College Coaches at the local youth center. Students have access to tutors during and after school, participate in college awareness workshops, college and workplace tours, summer bridge program, SAT prep, essay writing and summer work opportunities with soft skills training. Parents also participate in financial aid workshops. In 2024 more than 100 students created individualized college and career plans, 123 duplicated students attended 5 college tours, 38 unduplicated students participated in tutoring, 23 parents and students participated in financial aid workshops, 15 students participated in summer bridge programming,14 unduplicated students participated in soft skills training and summer work program at 8 local businesses.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0The Villages current afterschool program, READ TO LEAD, is a 21st Century Community Learning Center program providing literacy instruction, homework help, tutoring, character development, Science, Technology, Engineering Arts and Math enrichment, parent engagement, field trips, and a hot meal every day for more than 60 youth in the fall. In the summer, more than 70 youth participate in our Monday Friday, six-week program from 8:00am 4:30pm 99% of our students were minority students, 98% income qualified to receive Free and Reduced Meals, and 66.7% were reading below grade level. Aimed at improving literacy, our program uses an evidenced based on-line curriculum, i-ready. Additional evidenced based curriculum, Positive Action and Too Good for Drugs and Violence support social emotional development for our youth. During the School year we provided 64 evidenced based programming sessions, and 78% of our students met criteria for regular attendance.
