The organization maintains a conflict of interest policy. Any conflicts are to be immediately brought to the attention of the entire board.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

The ceo's salary as well as future adjustments equal to changes in the consumer price index were established and approved by the ihps board in 2006. This review and approval reflected a finding that this salary level is demonstrably acceptable to foundations and government agencies that have regularly approved grants and contracts with this salary level specified as a line item, and recognition that it is within the salary levels of comparably accomplished individuals doing similar health policy analysis work in other organizations, such as those ihps subcontracts with for joint projects. The board also stipulated that any salary changes other than inflation adjustments based on the cpi would require board consideration and approval.

THIS REVIEW AND APPROVAL REFLECTED A FINDING THAT THIS SALARY LEVEL IS DEMONSTRABLY ACCEPTABLE TO FOUNDATIONS AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES THAT HAVE REGULARLY APPROVED GRANTS AND CONTRACTS WITH THIS SALARY LEVEL SPECIFIED AS A LINE ITEM, AND RECOGNITION THAT IT IS WITHIN THE SALARY LEVELS OF COMPARABLY ACCOMPLISHED INDIVIDUALS DOING SIMILAR HEALTH POLICY ANALYSIS WORK IN OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, SUCH AS THOSE IHPS SUBCONTRACTS WITH FOR JOINT PROJECTS. THE BOARD ALSO STIPULATED THAT ANY SALARY CHANGES OTHER THAN INFLATION ADJUSTMENTS BASED ON THE CPI WOULD REQUIRE BOARD CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL.
