“Scascd is the south carolina affiliate of international ascd, which has 66 affiliates in the 50 states and 135 foreign countries. Like its parent organization, scascd is a non-profit, non-partisan organization with a primary mission of improving the teaching and learning of all students. Scascd accomplishes its mission by influencing educational research, policy, and practice in curriculum and instruction.”

“Scholarships and grants awarded: the focus of scascd is to improve teaching and learning in south carolina. In june 2003, the excutive board decide to implement a grant and scholarship program for members of the organization. The teacher and student scholarship programs offer both teachers and undergraduate students the opportunity to continue their persuit of an educational degree. The classroom grant program focuses on innovative projects which foster student learning. A committee is formed to review each application and determine the award winner in each category.”
