Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The organization has a committee to review and approve the draft tax return. The committee compares the final tax return with the audited financial statements to determine if the return looks reasonable. Once approved, the tax return is signed and mailed to the internal revenue service.

The organization regularly and consistently monitors and enforces compliance with the conflict of interest policy by requiring all employees to complete a "affirmation of compliance and disclosure statement" on a yearly basis. These forms are then reviewed by managment to determine if there are any conflicts with employees.

An amount not to exceed 75% of the income from the investments, excluding investment gains or losses, may be distributed from the endowment fund to aid in the organization's program services.

PART X, LINE 2:

The center's evaluation on june 30, 2024 revealed no uncertain tax positions that would have a material impact on the consolidated financial statements. The three previous tax years remain subject to examination by the irs. The center does not believe that any resonably possible changes will occur within the next twelve (12) months that will have a material impact on the consolidated financial statements.
