BY PARTNERING WITH VOLUNTEERS AND OUTSIDE VENDORS, WESTMINSTER AT LAKE RIDGE STRIVES TO ENSURE RESIDENT SATISFACTION AND HIGH QUALITY OF LIFE. BROAD-BASED PROGRAMS ACROSS ALL LEVELS OF CARE PROMOTE RESIDENT PARTICIPATION AND ENGAGEMENT. THE COMMUNITY ENCOURAGES INDEPENDENCE AND INDIVIDUALITY WHILE FOSTERING COMMUNICATION, RESPECT, AND A STRONG SENSE OF COMMUNITY.WESTMINSTER IS GOVERNED BY A VOLUNTEER, COMMUNITY-BASED BOARD OF DIRECTORS. RESIDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VOLUNTEER BOTH WITHIN THE COMMUNITY AND IN THE BROADER REGION. WLR MAINTAINS AN ACTIVE RESIDENT ASSOCIATION THAT SPONSORS VARIOUS RESIDENT-LED COMMITTEES TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE. FAMILY AND FRIENDS ALSO VOLUNTEER AT WLR, OFFERING COMPANIONSHIP AND MEANINGFUL ENGAGEMENT FOR RESIDENTS AND STAFF. MANY PARTICIPATE IN LOCAL VOLUNTEER EFFORTS SUCH AS MENTORING STUDENTS AT ROCKLEDGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OR SERVING IN LOCAL FOOD PANTRIES. ADDITIONALLY, RESIDENTS HAVE CREATED A SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR EMPLOYEES PURSUING HIGHER EDUCATION OR U.S. CITIZENSHIP.THE WESTMINSTER INGLESIDE FOUNDATION PROVIDES A SUPPORTIVE NETWORK FOR RESIDENTS WHO, THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN, HAVE OUTLIVED THEIR FINANCIAL RESOURCES.
