Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The 990 was compiled by an independent tax accountant and reviewed by management and the organization's outsourced accounting department. It was then sent to the executive committee, which reviewed and approved the form before it was signed by the president & ceo.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

Form 990, part vi, line 15a - compensation process for top official: ccap has a compensation committee which reviews all compensation packages. The compensation committee receives an opinion letter from a compensation consultant which provides information on compensation market ranges for similarly situated positions. Results of the comparison are documented in a memo and reported to the executive committee. Form 990, part vi, line 15b - compensation process for officers: the salaries of key employees are compared with data from the compensation consultant and salary surveys done by other similar organizations.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The organization does not provide its policies or financial statements to the general public but will provide its audited financial statements to grantors upon request. The organization's public inspection copy of the 990 is available upon request.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require the organization to evaluate tax positions taken and recognize a tax liability if it is more likely than not that uncertain tax positions taken would not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. The organization has analyzed tax positions taken and has concluded that, as of june 30, 2024, there are no uncertain tax positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or disclosure in the consolidated financial statements.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0CLIMATE FINANCE: THE PROGRAM CONTINUED WORKING IN SUSTAINABLE TAXONOMIES AND TRANSPARENCY. IN THE FALL, WE LAUNCHED THE OBSERVATORY OF TAXONOMIES IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN, AND IN CHILE SUPPORTED THE DEVELOPMENT OF ITS NATIONAL TAXONOMY OF ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE ACTIVITIES. THE TEAM ENGAGED IN A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE SHARING ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WRITING BLOGS AND PRESENTING IN NUMEROUS EVENTS, TO HELP POSITION CCAP AS GLOBAL LEADERS AND EXPERTS WITHIN RELATED CLIMATE FINANCE DISCUSSIONS. WE ALSO MADE SUBSTANTIAL PROGRESS ON OUR ONGOING TRANSPARENCY GUIDE WE'RE DEVELOPING FOR THE INITIATIVE FOR CLIMATE ACTION TRANSPARENCY (ICAT), WHICH WILL BE PUBLISHED AND DISTRIBUTED IN 2025.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES GENERALLY ACCEPTED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA REQUIRE THE ORGANIZATION TO EVALUATE TAX POSITIONS TAKEN AND RECOGNIZE A TAX LIABILITY IF IT IS MORE LIKELY THAN NOT THAT UNCERTAIN TAX POSITIONS TAKEN WOULD NOT BE SUSTAINED UPON EXAMINATION BY TAXING AUTHORITIES.
