The policy requires that all transactions that may present an actual or appearance of a conflict of interest be disclosed to the president & ceo, the chief financial officer, or the appropriate member of the board of directors as soon as the person becomes aware of the conflict. Persons who may have a conflict of interest are prohibited from taking action with respect to any decision regarding the transaction or matter. The conflict of interest policy is included in the employee handbook. Further, each member of the board of directors and the executive team completes and signs a conflict of interest disclosure form every year, acknowledging that the recipient has read and reviewed and is in compliance with the policy.”

“The process for determining the compensation of the organization's top executive, officers, and key employees is reviewed and approved by a compensation committee, which is comprised solely of independent directors. Using an outside consultant, the compensation committee conducts an in-depth market survey every three years to produce comparability data, with the most recent study completed in april 2017. The compensation committee, in addition to the organization's president & ceo, chief financial officer, and chief people officer, also reviews market data annually for changes in the marketplace and specific job functions. The compensation committee recommends the compensation of the executive chairman to the full board of directors for approval. The board's decision is substantiated in the minutes. The compensation committee also reviews and approves the compensation recommendations for the next three highest compensated officers and key employees and is informed of the compensation determinations for remaining officers, key employees, and/or members of the executive team of the organization. All of these compensation determinations are developed using the same market data used to evaluate the executive chairman.”

The presentation of share our strength's functional expense allocation and business model is most accurately reflected with nycwff costs excluded.”

As such, the activities performed for each platform may be program-specific, fundraising, management and general, or joint (i.e., a combination of fundraising and program). These efforts help advance our mission to end hunger and poverty in the u.s. And abroad. As a nonprofit organization that is exempt from federal taxation, we ensure our donors' money is spent as efficiently and effectively as possible.”
