Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

Manna food center, inc. (the organization) is a nonprofit organization that is montgomery county, maryland's largest community based organization that is focused on food security and community health. For more than four decades, the organization has been a reliable "thread" in the social safety net for the vulnerable that require a supplement of nutritious food and as a center for education and action. The organization's work is built on three priorities that create an unique and comprehensive approach to hunger relief. Priority 1:strengthen and expand services collaboratively to address food insecurity and community health more effectively. Priority 2: fortify our capacity and sustainability to optimize impact and support the future priority 3: advocate for healthy food, a resilient food system, and systems change. The organization distributes to an average of 5,500 families approximately 50 pounds of fresh vegetables, pantry stables, breads, and frozen meats each month. This program serves 38,000 individuals as well as dozens of peer agencies with more than 3 million pounds of food. This program is run at 8 sites and includes delivery to qualifying families. Our school-based programs reach almost 80 locations in the public school system with weekend bags, gift-cards, and school-based pantries.

Manna additionally made 120,000 of purchases from local farms and farmers markets, provided 2,500 lyft rides to participants with limited transportation access, conducted 54 workshops and cooking classes, made 6,800 home deliveries, and screened 950 applicants for snap eligibility.

The organization is exempt from federal and state income taxes (except taxes on unrelated business income) under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and is classified by the internal revenue services as "other than a private foundation." no provision for income taxes is required for the year ended june 30, 2025, since the organization had no taxable income from unrelated business activities. The organization's tax filings are subject to audit by various taxing authorities, generally for three years after filing. The organization's tax returns for tax years ending 2022 onward are, therefore, open to examination. None of the organization's federal or state income tax returns are currently under examination. The organization believes there are no tax provisions taken or expected to be taken that would significantly increase unrecognized tax liabilities within 12 months of the reporting date.

(THE ORGANIZATION) IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT IS MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MARYLAND'S LARGEST COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATION THAT IS FOCUSED ON FOOD SECURITY AND COMMUNITY HEALTH. FOR MORE THAN FOUR DECADES, THE ORGANIZATION HAS BEEN A RELIABLE "THREAD" IN THE SOCIAL SAFETY NET FOR THE VULNERABLE THAT REQUIRE A SUPPLEMENT OF NUTRITIOUS FOOD AND AS A CENTER FOR EDUCATION AND ACTION. THE ORGANIZATION'S WORK IS BUILT ON THREE PRIORITIES THAT CREATE AN UNIQUE AND COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO HUNGER RELIEF. PRIORITY 1:STRENGTHEN AND EXPAND SERVICES COLLABORATIVELY TO ADDRESS FOOD INSECURITY AND COMMUNITY HEALTH MORE EFFECTIVELY. PRIORITY 2: FORTIFY OUR CAPACITY AND SUSTAINABILITY TO OPTIMIZE IMPACT AND SUPPORT THE FUTURE PRIORITY 3: ADVOCATE FOR HEALTHY FOOD, A RESILIENT FOOD SYSTEM, AND SYSTEMS CHANGE. THE ORGANIZATION DISTRIBUTES TO AN AVERAGE OF 5,500 FAMILIES APPROXIMATELY 50 POUNDS OF FRESH VEGETABLES, PANTRY STABLES, BREADS, AND FROZEN MEATS EACH MONTH. THIS PROGRAM SERVES 38,000 INDIVIDUALS AS WELL AS DOZENS OF PEER AGENCIES WITH MORE THAN 3 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD. THIS PROGRAM IS RUN AT 8 SITES AND INCLUDES DELIVERY TO QUALIFYING FAMILIES. OUR SCHOOL-BASED PROGRAMS REACH ALMOST 80 LOCATIONS IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM WITH WEEKEND BAGS, GIFT-CARDS, AND SCHOOL-BASED PANTRIES.

THE PROGRAM DISTRIBUTED HALF A MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD TO NEARLY 40,000 CHILDREN THIS PAST SCHOOL YEAR. ONE OF THE ORGANIZATION'S NEWER INITIATIVES, SCHOOLBASED PANTRIES, CONTINUED TO EXPAND BY 3 ADDITIONAL PANTRIES RESULTED IN THE ORGANIZATION'S ALMOST DOUBLING SERVICE NUMBERS, SUPPORTING 41,000 SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN AND FAMILY MEMBERS OVERALL, INCLUDING 45,515 POUNDS OF PRODUCE AND PANTRY STAPLES AT THE PANTRIES.
