Mission
As a section of the american water works association (awwa) in the chesapeake bay region, csawwa strives to carry out, locally, awwa's mission "providing solutions to effectively manage water, the world's most important resource" while protecting public health, safeguarding the environment, pursuing excellence, acting with integrity, providing value, and fostering diversity and inclusion while providing education to licensed professionals, operators and superintendents among forty-three (43) north american sections; sharing a common vision of "a better world through better water."

JANUARY 9, 2014 OPERATOR TRAINING SESSION: "WATER TREATMENT PROCESSES OVERVIEW AND OPERATIONAL MATH" WAS HELD IN ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY. 14 OPERATORS ATTENDED AND RECEIVED 7 HOURS OF TRAINING CREDIT. 2.) JANUARY 16, 2014 WATER DISTRIBUTION SEMINAR "WHEN IT BREAKS, IT POURS." 85 ATTENDEES PARTICIPATED IN THIS EVENT HELD AT WSSC. OPERATOR AND ENGINEER CREDITS WERE PROVIDED FOR ATTENDEES. 3.) FEBRUARY 14, 2014 JOINT CSAWWA-CWEA CAREER FAIR WAS HELD AT THE ENGINEERS CLUB OF BALTIMORE. 18 FIRMS AND 5 UTILITIES INTERVIEWED 67 STUDENTS. 4.) MARCH 26, 2014 CSAWWA'S WATER DISTRIBUTION COMMITTEE HOSTED THE "UNDERSTANDING CATHODIC PROTECTION" SEMINAR AT MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF THE ENVIRONMENT. 5 HOURS OF CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS WERE PROVIDED FOR 36 ATTENDEES. 5.) APRIL 2014 CSAWWA PARTICIPATED IN WASHINGTON, D.C. AT THE ANNUAL FLY-IN. ATTENDEES WORKED WITH OTHER AWWA SECTION LEADERS, TO ADDRESS CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES ABOUT DRINKING WATER ISSUES. 6.) APRIL 17, 2014 THE JOINT CSAWWA/CWEA WATER REUSE COMMITTEE HOSTED "THE CASE FOR WATER REUSE IN THE CHESAPEAKE BAY REGION," AT THE ELKS LODGE IN ELKRIDGE, MD. OVER 50 ATTENDEES AND EXHIBITORS PARTICIPATED AND CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT WERE PROVIDED. 7.) JUNE 2014 - ANNUAL SHORT COURSE FOR OPERATOR TRAINING. FEBRUARY 14, 2014 JOINT CSAWWA-CWEA CAREER FAIR WAS HELD AT THE ENGINEERS CLUB OF BALTIMORE. 18 FIRMS AND 5 UTILITIES INTERVIEWED 67 STUDENTS. 4.) MARCH 26, 2014 CSAWWA'S WATER DISTRIBUTION COMMITTEE HOSTED THE "UNDERSTANDING CATHODIC PROTECTION" SEMINAR AT MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF THE ENVIRONMENT. 5 HOURS OF CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS WERE PROVIDED FOR 36 ATTENDEES. 5.) APRIL 2014 CSAWWA PARTICIPATED IN WASHINGTON, D.C. AT THE ANNUAL FLY-IN. ATTENDEES WORKED WITH OTHER AWWA SECTION LEADERS, TO ADDRESS CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES ABOUT DRINKING WATER ISSUES. 6.) APRIL 17, 2014 THE JOINT CSAWWA/CWEA WATER REUSE COMMITTEE HOSTED "THE CASE FOR WATER REUSE IN THE CHESAPEAKE BAY REGION," AT THE ELKS LODGE IN ELKRIDGE, MD. OVER 50 ATTENDEES AND EXHIBITORS PARTICIPATED AND CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT WERE PROVIDED. 7.) JUNE 2014 - ANNUAL SHORT COURSE FOR OPERATOR TRAINING.
