Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The 990 was prepared by the outside accountants and thoroughly reviewed internally by management. Cpwr makes a copy of the return available to the board members prior to submission of the return to the irs.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The board and key employees sign a conflict of interest form annually. In the rare instance that a conflict does arise, the matter is reviewed by the board of directors and the executive director for any action necessary.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

The salary of the executive director is determined using comparable data, primarily from the member organizations within the building and construction trades department and salary caps related to federal funding. It has a scheduled cost of living adjustment on an annual basis when funding allows. Anything in excess of a cost of living adjustment is approved by the board of directors and the decision of the board is documented.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

Upon written request, cpwr will provide pdf copies of governing documents, conflict of interest policy or financial statements.
