Mission

We keep those incarcerated connected to their families and community. From the moment of arrest through release. We work hand-and-hand to plan a productive reentry into the community.

Voices for a Second Chance (VSC) (formally the Visitors' Services Center), is an essential safety net for offenders and their families who are likely to be among the most marginalized members of our society. We continue to be the only organization in the Nation's Capital that provides vital services to our neediest citizens. Our goal is to reduce the recidivism rate in the District of Columbia. We know from direct experience that returning citizens who are given services, (both pre and post release from incarceration), make a successful transition and become positive contributing citizens to our economy and community. We remain committed to our long history of providing basic human services to meet basic human needs.
