Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

FORM 990, PART XII, LINE 2C:

The independent members of the governing board assume responsibility for oversight of the audit of its financial statements and selection of an independent accountant. The process has not changed from the prior year.

Financial Statement Notes

PART III, LINE 1A:

The foundation does not capitalize collection items such as works of art and historical treasures for financial statement purposes. The policy of the foundation states that these items are to be held for exhibition and education rather than for financial gain. Furthermore, the policy requires that the items be preserved and any proceeds of any items sold (subject to donor restrictions) be used to acquire other items for collections.

PART V, LINE 4:

Permanent endowment funds are established by donor-restricted gifts and are maintained to provide a permanent source of income, with the stipulation that principal must be invested and reinvested, while the income from the fund is available to fulfill the mission of the organization.

PART XI, LINE 2D - OTHER ADJUSTMENTS:
