Mission

The Barker Adoption Foundation provides life-long services for all in the adoption constellation and advocates for ethical, respectful, and child-centered adoption practices.

Major Activities

Activity 2
International Program: Worked directly with 4 different countries to place 46 children with adoptive parents in the U.S.A.; actively located families for children with special needs through China's Waiting Children program; provided services to 292 adoptive parents; provides humanitarian aid to orphanages we work with to improve living conditions for the children.
Activity 3
Post Adoption: Worked with over 400 clients, including assisting adoptees searching for their birth parents or providing them with medical/genetic background information; facilitating reunions between birth parents and adoptees; counseling, education and support for adoptees, adoptive families and birth parents; and conducting support groups and workshops for all members of the adoption circle.
