The chamber maintains custodial funds that are used for purposes of political advocacy and lobbying activities.

PART X, LINE 2:

The chamber is a not-for-profit organization exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(6) of the internal revenue code. The foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Contributions to the chamber are not tax deductible, while contributions to the foundation are tax deductible. The chamber's unrelated business activities include advertising revenue, which is taxable under internal revenue code section 511(a). Unrelated business income tax expense was $-0- for each of the years ended august 31,2024 and 2023, respectively.
