The needy family fund provides emergency assistance to delawareans for basic necessities for which they are unable to provide. All funds are collected through community donations with 100% of the dollars going to those in need, as determined by the salvation army and the division of state service centers. The needy family fund is run by the news journal, absorbing any administrative fees or costs. While we run the promotion at our expense and we collect and process the donations at our expense, our goal is simply to create awareness and collect the funds.
