“Pawsitive perspectives assistance dogs' (pawpads) mission is to facilitate the power of the human-canine bond, and enhance the lives of others, through the process of training assistance dogs and the outcome of placing them with people with disabilities.”

“Our process, which is what makes us unique, is achieved through our programs that utilizes the power of the human-canine bond as an educational, experiential and therapeutic opportunity. Through our programs we have worked with students at all levels of education, youth at-risk, federal prison inmates, veterans with ptsd and others by providing them the opportunity to develop valuable life skills such as stronger emotional regulation, better communication, parenting and advocacy skills along with a solid educational experience. Our outcome has placed exceptional dogs that benefit numerous populations including service dogs for individuals with physical disabilities, diabetic alert dogs for type-1 diabetics, facility dogs in schools (school resource dogs), senior living centers (senior resource dogs) and those that work within the legal justice system (survivor support dogs). During fy 2023, pawpads: "continued to train and prepare dogs for placement, including service dogs for individuals with physical disabilities, diabetic alert dogs and facility dogs; maintained an average of 15 service dogs in-training. "successfully facilitated several school resource dog workshops for participating schools/teachers. "placed 4 dogs in their full-time careers after facilitating a successful partner training camp. "brought five new puppies into the program (1 rescue and 4 purpose-bred). "facilitated the adept internship as a stand-alone program for uwrf students. "rejoined assistance dogs international (adi) as a candidate member. "presented at the international association for experiential education conference (utilizing the power of the human-canine bond in experiential programs & activities) and virtually at the 3rd animal behavior & welfare conference in africa (canine catalysts: strategies for launching international service dog initiatives) pawpads continually documents the impact of our programming in the form of statistics and testimonials, such as this one: "pawpads is a life changing organization pawpads goes much deeper than training dogs. Six years ago, i became benji's primary handler where benji serves as a school resource dog at jfk elementary. Throughout this entire time, pawpads has provided continual training to me and all of benji's handlers and has been available to assist every step of the way. The magic happens when the dogs begin to do the work they were trained to do i've been fortunate to witness this firsthand with benji. Watching an anxious child's body instantly calm or kids with asd make personal connections with benji. Bringing comfort to a child dealing with grown-up problems or simply being there for them during a tough day. These are some of the examples of things that happen on a daily basis and are made possible because of the vision and dedication pawpads offers.
