Mission: the pacific cancer foundation's mission is to provide patient support and community outreach and to promote access to optimal treatment, clinical trials and research for all whose lives are touched by cancer. Purpose: the pacific care foundatin is an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization created exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes. THE FOUNDATION IS DEDICATED TO ASSURING THAT CANCER PATIENTS ARE WELL INFORMED OF TREATMENT OPTIONS AVAILABLE WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY AND ON A NATIONAL LEVEL. THE FOUNDATION WILL ASSIST APPROPRIATE PATIENTS IN ACCESSING CLINICAL TRIALS AND INNOVATIVE THERAPIES. HISTORY: THE PACIFIC CANCER FOUNDATION WAS CONCEIVED IN 2004 BY CONCERNED HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS AND CANCER SURVIVORS WHO WANTED TO ASSIST CANCER PATIENTS ON MAUI. THE FOUNDATION IS ORGANIZED AS A NON-PROFIT CORPORATION. THE FOUNDATION IS DIRECTED BY A DIVERSE BOARD OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR. |

THE FOUNDATION WILL SERVE AS AN ADVOCATE FOR PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT THEY RECEIVE THE UTMOST RESPECT AND DIGNITY AS THEY FACE THE CHALLENGES OF THEIR DISEASE. INFORMATION: THE FOUNDATION SERVES THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING A CONNECTION BETWEEN THE CANCER PATIENT AND THE RESOURCES THEY NEED WHETHER THEY BE SOCIAL, FINANCIAL, MENTAL, SPIRITUAL OR PHYSICAL. THE FOUNDATION IDENTIFIES FOR THE CANCER PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES SUPPORT GROUPS AND SPECIAL EVENTS SPECIFIC TO THEIR NEEDS. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES A RESOURCE CENTER THAT GIVES PERSONAL ASSISTANCE FOR THOSE DESIRING INFORMATION ON THE DISEASE. THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS CARE THAT IMPROVES THE QUALITY-OF-LIFE FOR CANCER PATIENTS. |
