Active membership shall be available to those physicians orscientists with an advanced professional degree who have valid credentialsindicating their professional activity--either medical, investigational, oreducational--whose professional activity is dedicated to the care and/orinvestigation of diseases or disorders of the nervous system. Active members shallbe entitled to all of the privileges of the society including the privileges of votingand holding office. 2.02 associate member. Associate membership shall be available to scientists of related disciplines or physicians in training in the neurosciences, as well as nurses in the neurosciences whose contributions further the objectives of the society. Associate members shall be entitled to all the privileges of the society except voting and holding office.associate members shall be eligible to serve on volunteer committees. 2.03 emeritus member. At the written request of a member to the secretary-treasurer and with the approval of the board of directors, a member no longer active in the practice of medicine may be designated an emeritus member. Emeritus membersare not required to pay annual dues and shall have all the privileges of active membership including the privileges of voting hold , holding elected office and servingon committees in the organization. 2.04 honorary member. Honorary membership may be extended to members who havedemonstrated extraordinary service to sfns over time and have been selected bythe board. Honorary members are not required to pay annual dues and shall beentitled to all the privileges of the society except voting and holding office.honorary members shall be eligible to serve on volunteer committees.”

“The san francisco neurological society (sfns) policy requires reporting of financial relationships of a board members, planner, faculty, or author. To identify any potential conflicts of interest, all are are required to complete a disclosure statement. If anyone is unable to disclose these financial relationships for any reason, they will be disqualified from participating in any sfns activity. Please list any financial relationships with a commercial interest. The accreditation council for continuing medical education (accme) defines a commercial interest as any entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients. This definition exempts non-profit or government organizations; non-health care related companies; liability and health insurance providers; group medical practices; and for-profit hospitals, rehabilitation centers and nursing homes.
