“The organization strives to foster achievement in every field of human endeavor. The southern province of kappa alpha psi fraternity is part on a national organization which provides administrative, training and advisory leadership to 75 alumni and college undergraduate chapters in alabama and florida. The province appointed polemarch(president) and board of directors are available at all times to provide help and assist the provincial chapters as well as college administrator's. The southern province has focus on providing and developing college students to be leaders on their campuses and their community since 1950 and will continue to promote these activities. The southern province requires all chapters to meet several times a year to train and update members on community service activities and organizational requirements. Listed are the activities conducted each year by the southern province. 1. C. Rodger wilson leadership conference - this is a three day training event with workshops providing information to all chapter leaders on organizational updates provide by the national organization. This training is conducted in the fall of the year at locations either in alabama or florida. The activities are coordinate by the appointed chairman and several broad members such as the president, secretary, treasurer and college advisors. This meeting provides the training materials on community service, scholarships, college and governmental requirements. Presenters are available all year long for assistant. 2. Province council meeting - this is a four day meeting conducted in the spring of each year. Attendant is required by all chapters in alabama and florida. Meetings are conducted by the province polemarch and province officers on updates, initiatives, scholarships, college and governmental requirements. This meeting is when new officers are elected to continue the focus and objectives of kappa alpha psi fraternity, inc. 3. Chapter advisory training - this training is conducted as often as needed. The training consist of 8 hours of leadership training for college and university advisors that must be certified by kappa alpha psi fraternity to interact with college officials and students. Training is provided by the province broad member appointed by grand chapter. 4. Leadership retreat for advisors and polemarchs - the meeting occur every 24 months usually every other summer. Meeting is conducted by the southern province vice-polemarch to ensure that all chapters are consistent with the statues, guidelines and organization requirements set force by kappa alpha psi fraternity headquarters. This is a two day event either in alabama or florida. 5. New memberships - individuals who wish to join the kappa alpha psi fraternity, inc. From colleges or universities in alabama and florida must join through the programs provided by the southern province. The membership process is conducted by the province polemarch and his membership team. The process is a two day event either in alabama or florida and can be conducted only at times set by the province polemarch. Usually the process takes place in the fall and spring of the year.”
