Financial Statement Notes

Part X : FIN48 Footnote

Mission Housing Development Corporation (MHDC) and other not-for-profit corporations are exempt from Federal income taxation under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and from California franchise taxation under the Revenue and Taxation Code 23701(d). The income or loss from the combined partnerships is reported by the partners on their income tax returns and, accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been made in the financial statements.MHDC and affiliates believe that they have appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, do not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements. The federal and state income tax and information returns for the years ending December 31, 2016, 2015, 2014 and 2013 are subject to examination by regulatory agencies, generally for three years and four years after they were filed for the federal and state returns, respectively.

The income or loss from the combined partnerships is reported by the partners on their income tax returns and, accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been made in the financial statements.MHDC and affiliates believe that they have appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, do not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements. The federal and state income tax and information returns for the years ending December 31, 2016, 2015, 2014 and 2013 are subject to examination by regulatory agencies, generally for three years and four years after they were filed for the federal and state returns, respectively.
