“Classes of members or stockholders of the organization is managed by an executive committee comprised of the president, president-elect, past-president, treasurer, president of the house of delegates, and the executive director. The executive director is a non-voting member of the committee. The executive committee is responsible for and executes all business for and on behalf of the organization. Credentialed members: credentialed members shall be currently licensed veterinary graduates of colleges and schools of veterinary medicine who are in good standing with their regulatory authority and have completed all ivas requirements for credentialed membership. Associate members: associate members shall be currently licensed veterinary graduates of colleges and schools of veterinary medicine who are in good standing with their regulatory authority but have not successfully completed all ivas requirements for credentialed membership. Honor roll members: an honor roll member shall maintain all privileges in accordance with their original category of membership, but will be excused from paying dues, and will be recognized as having permanent membership in ivas. Student members: students currently enrolled in an accredited college or school of veterinary medicine are eligible for student membership in ivas. Allied members: allied members shall include all other categories of members as described or determined and approved by the board of directors.”

“Members of the organization, other than student members, may elect members of the governing body.”

“The form 990 is reviewed by the treasurer and signed by the executive director upon approval.”

“The conflict of interest policy covers all officers, directors, committee members, and employees of the organization in connection with any actual or possible conflicts of interest. All covered individuals are required to disclose the existence and nature of the conflict to the board of directors annually. After exercising due diligence, the board of directors shall determine whether an actual conflict exists and whether they can obtain a more adventageous transaction or arrangement with reasonable efforts from a person or entity that would not give rise to a conflict of interest. Individuals who are determined to have an actual or potential conflict of interest shall refrain from deliberation and voting on the matter.”

“Compensation of the organization's top management officials is determined by the board of directors.”

“The organization's governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements are made available to the public upon request.”
