It is natural, therefore, that they or members of their families may often be members of governing boards or employees of organizations seeking support from green hill center. Board members and staff should not disqualify themselves or members of their families from participation in the arts, other arts organizations, or in projects supported by green hill center merely because of green hill center board membership or employment. However, board members and green hill center staff should be alert to avoid any actions that could possibly be interpreted as an abuse of board membership or an attempt to obtain personal gain, unfair advantage, either directly or indirectly (such as through an outside organization with which they or a family member are affiliated as an employee or director.) in the event that a director (or an organization with which he or she is associated) seeks to enter into a transaction with green hill center pursuant to which he or she (or an organization with which he or she is associated) will receive compensation from green hill center in exchange for the provision of goods or services, such potential transaction must be disclosed to the board of directors and approval of the board shall be required prior to green hill center entering into such transaction. Each individual green hill center director, officer, and employee is responsible for identifying persons, firms and organizations with which he or she or members of his or her family are associated or affiliated, and to assist the board and management to recognize transactions that require disclosure to the board and board approval as provided herein.”

“Upon vacancies in key director level positions, the executive committee of the board of director's utilizes survey data such as review of comparable organizations' form 990 to determine if wages are comparable to like positions in the area. Based on survey data and review of applicable job descriptions, salary ranges are approved by executive committee for including in the operating budget, whereby the entire board approves as part of the yearly budget process.”

In the shop, you can find original artwork, artisan kitchen and tableware, handmade home dcor, and one of a kind jewelry by more than 100 north carolina artists.”

“See schedule o greenhill's studios are dynamic, hands-on spaces with artmaking tools and supplies, from clay to recycled materials, readily available to spark one's imagination in our self-driven environment. The arts education team encourages all visitors, children and adults alike, to have fun, explore and express ideas through their own works of art. The studios are welcoming and community-building, where children and families can make art together and make new friends. Gallery connection projects in the studios are integrated with the exhibition program, introducing visitors to themes and processes found in artwork in the gallery and shop. Daytime hours are focused primarily on children and families, but adults have programs geared toward their creative development and enjoyment too. The studios are opened for children and families during regular operating hours. Admission fee to the studios is 6.00 per adult / 6.00 per child. Children 12 months and under are free. Admission is free with household level membership or higher. Workshops and class fees vary.”
