To provide emergency shelter, food, clothing, spiritual instruction, and life skills training to the needy.

Because of our love for God, we extend his mercy as we strive to empower and improve the lives of unsheltered adults in Pueblo, CO, through provisions of food, shelter and navigational support services.

Pt VI, Line 11B

Form 990 prepared by an independent party; completed result presented to the Board Chairperson for review; after completion of two (2) revisions; copies of the final complete Form 990 presented to Board Members at a regular meeting for review and discussion; approved by formal action by the Board of Directors for filing via mail with the IRS.

Pt VI, Line 12C

New Board Members, upon appointment to the Board of Directors, were required to read, acknowledge and sign a Conflict of Interest Statement and a Confidentiality Statement. As the Board of Directors considered potential Vendors, Board Members were required to disclose any potential conflict of interest. As an example, the Board was searching for a Vendor to provide accounting services but was unable to obtain affordable proposals. The Treasurer at the time, who was the owner of an accounting firm, offered to, and did, provide an acceptable proposal for accounting services. This individual resigned the Treasurer position and the Board of Directors position to preclude any appearance of conflict of interest. The Board of Directors monitors compliance with its Conflict of Interest Policy on an ongoing basis and as potential conflicts of interest arise.

Pt VI, Line 15B

After a search for, and an evaluation of the qualifications and skills of, an Executive Director (ED), the Board of Directors performs a comparison of compensation of EDs of other local Non-Profit organizations and budgets an amount for the operating year for the ED. The Board of Directors then makes an offer to a candidate. After such a candidate accepts the offer, an annual performance review of the ED is conducted by the Executive Committee and discussed with the ED. Changes/increases in compensation are determined by the results of the annual performance review and the amount budgeted. Expectations and goals for the ED are then set for the subsequent year.

IRS990/Desc0The Pueblo Rescue Mission (PRM) went from being just an emergency services transient shelter to also offering a residential program for the Pueblo community. PRM created and implemented a stabilization program for Pueblos homeless who were seeking more than just an emergency shelter. This program is called the Step Back In program centered around stabilizing the three core issues of homelessness to include: Drug addiction, untreated mental illness and financial stability. All participants must maintain sobriety to remain in the program.

As the Board of Directors considered potential Vendors, Board Members were required to disclose any potential conflict of interest. As an example, the Board was searching for a Vendor to provide accounting services but was unable to obtain affordable proposals. The Treasurer at the time, who was the owner of an accounting firm, offered to, and did, provide an acceptable proposal for accounting services. This individual resigned the Treasurer position and the Board of Directors position to preclude any appearance of conflict of interest. The Board of Directors monitors compliance with its Conflict of Interest Policy on an ongoing basis and as potential conflicts of interest arise.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt2After a search for, and an evaluation of the qualifications and skills of, an Executive Director (ED), the Board of Directors performs a comparison of compensation of EDs of other local Non-Profit organizations and budgets an amount for the operating year for the ED. The Board of Directors then makes an offer to a candidate. After such a candidate accepts the offer, an annual performance review of the ED is conducted by the Executive Committee and discussed with the ED. Changes/increases in compensation are determined by the results of the annual performance review and the amount budgeted. Expectations and goals for the ED are then set for the subsequent year.
